Damian Hancock

From a young age, expressing my way of seeing the world came naturally through art. 

 

After many years of capturing my passions of surfing, water, waves and seascapes through painting, drawing and printmaking, I became drawn to photography. 

 

It’s the storytelling with photography that I love most.  When I am behind the camera, I not only visualise the scene, the character, or the shapes and patterns in nature that are before me, I picture the story unfolding. 

 

Following the completion of a degree in photography in 1995 and a professional career in Sydney where I was mentored for many years by a handful of advertising and commercial photographers, I embarked on my own professional and creative journey – starting my own cycling brand, A’qto.
